V4 API breaks critical automation

Our studio just upgraded to V4, and now thousands of lines of code are no longer functional. We have no options to revert to V3. We don’t even have access to the Frame API in our developer console anymore.

I have already started re-coding some aspects of our automation setup, however, I am noticing a distinct lack of a “search”, “version an asset”, and some other API calls.

These calls are CRITICAL to our daily workflow involving hundreds of files. Without a “version an asset” call we will be forced to manually drag and drop hundreds of files daily. This is entirely NOT an option.

We really need a way to get back into V3, or to accept /v2 API calls so we can get our studio back on track before Monday.

Have the exact same problem, I reached out with concerns to both Frame.io and Adobe (the new V4 API seems be built with Adobe’s developers platform) and both continue saying there’s no way alternative for us to continue running automations whilst they finalize the V4 one, no way to downgrade either to the old one temporarily.

Very poor organization on their end to even launch a mandatory V4 UI upgrade to everyone when they are well aware the API is not yet ready, and worse even to have no alternative/middle ground solution to mitigate these issues.

They don’t have a date either for the launch, if it continues for much longer, we’re just going to look at competitors at this point.

Our studio were forced onto v4 earlier today and it has completely broken all our automations. Support insists it is impossible to roll back and we have no way of getting access to a working API and no ETA for when it will be available. This is absolutely unacceptable from a company as big as Adobe. What were they thinking?

They just don’t care about the customers and do whatever they want. I couldn’t believe that Adobe/Frame.io don’t know dire consequences they bought to their subscribed accounts by forcing the move from V3 to V4 version.

Created an account just so I can have a moan…
Its utterly infuriating to me that an organisation as large as adobe can just go and roll out an unfinished product lacking in features the previous version had, its taken me ages trying to figure out why all this wasn’t working, and the final insult is not being able to roll back to a previous version, I cannot believe that there aren’t the resources available to properly build the next version of this before pushing it to paying customers.
Just another entry in the list of the ongoing enshittification of just about everything.
wasted loads of my time trying to fix something that was broken outside of my control…
