UPD: today (24 May, Sat) the situation fixed itself. I’ve relaunched the automation in the test mode. My tests worked with files up to 570Mb. Seems like something was changed in the API again, which made it work as before.
Hi Frame.io Devs & Community,
I run an online video editing school and use Frame io with Make com automation to collect and review student work. Since the Frame io outage on May 22, 2025, my Make com scenario now times out on any file upload over ~30MB. Previously, even 1GB+ files uploaded fine within the 40-second module timeout. Now, only small files (~30MB or less) work.
Workflow:
- Student uploads video via Tally so form.
- Webhook triggers Make com scenario.
- “Create Asset” module uploads the file from the Tally so link to the right Frame io folder.
What Changed:
- No changes to my automation or Tally so.
- All students affected, any device/location.
- Make com error handlers and retries don’t help.
- Issue started exactly after Frame io’s recent outage.
Key Points:
- Not browser-related (automation is server-side).
- Only files >40MB fail with a timeout; small files are fine.
- This is a critical workflow for my school.
- The sudden change happened exactly at the time of the recent Frame io outage, so something in the underlying API may have changed (I’m on Frame.io v3, but maybe affected by the v4 outage?).
Questions:
- Is anyone else experiencing this?
- Has Frame io changed any upload size, rate, or timeout policies recently?
- Any workaround or fix?
Thanks for any help or insights—this is blocking all large file submissions for us.
