Linking Adobe ID to existing legacy Frameio account - first delete the Frameio account or not?

Hi, I’d like to clarify the process of linking Adobe ID to a legacy Frameio account (in preparation for migration to v4) as I’ve gotten conflicting information from Frameio support.

Our current Frameio account is a legacy v3. It doesn’t have an Adobe ID linked to it. It’s got projects we need migrated to v4. I know I need to have the Frameio support link an Adobe ID account (under the same email as the Frameio account - to be able to later access v4 Frameio api) to the Frameio account. Then I’ll be able to proceed with Frameio support migrating our legacy Frameio account to v4.

I have gotten different Frameio support specialists saying I either have to or don’t have to first delete the Frameio account - for the Adobe ID to be linked to it (in the case of first deleting it: after having it recreated using said Adobe ID). Our Frameio account has projects in it, I’d like to avoid deleting it if that’s a possibility.

A senior migration specialist was supposed to contact me to clarify this topic, but multiple people kept replying to my messages or taking over from the previous specialists, none of them above the specialist level and offering conflicting answers. In the end I don’t know who has the correct information and who to plan the migration with.

@magma thanks for reaching out and apologies that you are getting conflicted responses. You do not need to delete your frame.io account. Once you upgrade to V4, support can then help you with relinking your account to an Adobe ID and you should be set (it cannot be done on V3 at this time). If you are having troubles, please DM me.

Thanks, the support let me know I don’t need to migrate to v4 in order to have them link Adobe ID to our Frameio account. I DMed you.
