Feature Request: View Comments Inline on the Transcript

Hi Frame.io team,

I’d love to see an option to display comments directly within the transcript view, rather than having Comments and Transcript as two separate tabs.

The problem:
Right now, I have to switch back and forth between the Comments tab and the Transcript tab. When I’m reviewing dialogue-heavy content (interviews, podcasts, talking-head videos), this breaks my flow and makes it hard to see which feedback ties to which line of speech.

What I’m proposing:
A combined view where comments appear live alongside or inline with the transcript, anchored to the timecode of the spoken text. As the video plays, the transcript highlights the current line and any comments at that moment show up right next to it. Clicking a comment or a transcript line would jump the playhead to that point.

Why it helps:

  • Faster reviews, with no tab switching
  • Easier to give and understand text-based feedback (cuts, rewording, removing filler)
  • Editors can see context for each note without hunting through the timeline
  • Fits text-based editing workflows that are becoming more common

Nice-to-haves:

  • Toggle to show or hide comments in the transcript view
  • Reply, resolve, and filter options available inline
  • Comments tied to a time range appear beside the matching block of text

Thanks for considering this. Happy to share more detail about my workflow if useful.

Best,
Kamryn Bingoff
