When I try to authenticate via OAuth Web App through Adobe Developer Console, I get the error “Your organization does not allow access to third party applications.”

My Adobe ID and [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) account are both under the same email and are linked.

Can you please help with third-party OAuth access for my account?

Hi @matthewl

This sounds like a setting a system admin in your org needs to adjust on their end. This page has some information on how they can do so: [https://helpx.adobe.com/business/enterprise/get-started-with-global-admin-console/update-policies.html](https://helpx.adobe.com/business/enterprise/get-started-with-global-admin-console/update-policies.html)

I hope this helps!

Hi Rosie,

Thanks for getting back to me, but I don’t see anything in my Adobe Admin Console that helps with this. We reached out to Adobe support, and they didn’t know too much about [Frame.io](http://Frame.io), but said that in general third party application support is not possible because we have an Education license for Creative Cloud.

I did see that you posted elsewhere on this forum that API access isn’t tied to a specific plan level, is that definitely the case? We don’t really want to start paying for a Commercial CC account just to get access to the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) API!

I also tested the List Account connection here ( [List accounts | Frame.io API Documentation](https://next.developer.frame.io/platform/api-reference/accounts/index?explorer=true) ) and got the same error.

Is anyone on the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) team able to assist me here? It has been a month and we since don’t have access to the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) API.

Hi @matthewl, unfortunately this is entirely on the Adobe console side (aka not the [frame.io](http://frame.io) api) due to how the permissions work for the authentication. When authorizing, we use Adobe IMS (identity management system) to check to make sure you have the proper entitlements to be able to access the different services and if that gets blocked by the admin console at that point before it can even reach the frame api there’s not much we can do on our side.

Is your [frame.io](http://frame.io) account connected to the same org/email of your Education license for Creative Cloud?

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, my [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) account uses the same email address as Creative Cloud. When I sign in to [Frame.io](http://Frame.io), it goes through the Adobe sign in screen.

This is unfortunate, I don’t recall seeing any documentation or asterisks on the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) marketing pages stating that the using the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) API requires a costly commercial Creative Cloud subscription.

hi @matthewl to be clear, this is not on the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) side, you could use the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) API on a free account if you want, this is strictly due to your creative cloud license blocking **any** 3rd party integrations on authentication (you would have this same issue on any other adobe api connection that uses the adobe developer console) and is purely a permissions issue higher up in the admin console.

Thanks for your patience.

Sorry if I’m misunderstanding here, but isn’t the Adobe developer console the only possible way to use the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) API? Isn’t [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) wholly owned by Adobe? Whether it’s “on the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) side” seems academic to me: the API seems not to be accessible as advertised without a separate expensive subscription.

Can you confirm what seems to be the case: a commercial Creative Cloud account is required to use the [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) API? If that’s not the case, please do let me know if there are other options available to me.

Hi @matthewl I’m digging into this more and will get back to you.

In the interim, does this help?

Hi Charlie,

Thank you, I will await your reply.

Following the instructions in that link shows a short list of public app integrations from large companies like Canon, etc. No mention of [Frame.io](http://Frame.io) or small self-created apps for the purpose of API integration.
